The Heritage

Crafted with
Uncompromising Passion

SKYY Vodka was launched in 1992 in San Francisco by Maurice Kanbar with an ambitious goal: to create the perfect martini through exceptional smoothness and purity. The brand pioneered the use of proprietary four-column distillation and three-step filtration processes, resulting in a vodka notably low in congeners. Its iconic cobalt blue bottle became a symbol of American premium vodka. The brand's original slogan, "Vodka so filtered—we even took the Russia out of it," reflected its distinctly American positioning in a category historically dominated by Eastern European producers. In 2009, Campari Group acquired SKYY Spirits, integrating it into their portfolio while maintaining its San Francisco heritage. Recently, SKYY has evolved to meet modern consumer preferences, emphasizing its Pacific Bay mineral enrichment and versatility in casual, everyday cocktails like vodka sodas and citrus mixers, while remaining true to its foundational commitment to clarity and smoothness.

Four-column distillation process with three-step filtration using charcoal. Made from American grain and purified water enriched with Pacific Bay minerals. The proprietary water treatment process imparts a subtle salinity and minerality characteristic of the brand. Production emphasizes consistency and purity, with bulk ethanol historically processed through Frank-Lin Distillers in San Jose, California.
