Uncompromising Passion
Sunshine & Sons Australian Vodka represents a distinctive approach to vodka production, crafted at a rainforest distillery in Woombye on Queensland's Sunshine Coast. Founded by Matt Hobson, the distillery embodies the essence of Australia's Sunshine Coast lifestyle—centred around quality time, relaxation, and natural beauty. The vodka's most distinctive feature is its grape base, a rarity accounting for less than five percent of global vodka production. This choice imparts a soft, velvety texture that sets it apart from traditional grain, sugar cane, and potato vodkas. The spirit is pot-distilled using hand-crafted German copper stills and gravity-filtered through millennia-old volcanic rock sourced locally, a filtration method that contributes remarkable texture and minerality. In 2024, Sunshine & Sons was named World's Best Botanical Vodka at the prestigious World Vodka Awards, outshining competitors from over 20 countries. This recognition validates the distillery's commitment to quality and innovation, positioning the brand for international expansion into European and British markets.
Pot-distilled in hand-crafted 6,000-litre Tasmanian copper stills (Maria) and 2,500-litre copper still (Sarah), both made from finest German copper. Gravity-filtered through millennia-old volcanic rock sourced on the Sunshine Coast, a method that imparts distinctive minerality and texture. Single distillation process emphasizes the grape base character and botanical complexity.
