Uncompromising Passion
Stolichnaya was trademarked in 1938, though its origins trace to the early 20th century when the Russian government centralized vodka production at the Moscow State Wine Warehouse No. 1. The brand became a symbol of Soviet-era spirits and played a historic role in Cold War diplomacy—in 1972, PepsiCo secured exclusive US importation rights as part of a landmark trade agreement between the Soviet government and the American corporation. In 1975, Stolichnaya made history as the first vodka brand in space, with bottles gifted to American astronauts during the Apollo-Soyuz mission. The brand pioneered flavoured vodkas, launching Okhotnichya and Pertsovka in 1962, and introducing the now-iconic Limonnaya in 1986, which became essential to the Cosmopolitan cocktail. Following the Soviet Union's dissolution, ownership became disputed between Russian state-owned FKP Soyuzplodoimport and Luxembourg-based SPI Group, which rebranded its version as Stoli in 2022. Today, Stolichnaya remains one of the world's top-selling vodka brands, produced in both Russia and Latvia.
Wheat sourced from Tambov, Russia, blended with rye and partially distilled at Russian facilities before completion. Filtered through quartz sand and activated charcoal using glacier water to achieve a clean, neutral profile. Triple-distilled for smoothness and purity.
