Uncompromising Passion
O.P. Anderson Aquavit traces its lineage to Olof Peter Anderson, a 19th-century Swedish merchant and chemical industrialist who began developing liquors with his son Carl August in the 1850s. In 1891, fifteen years after his father's death, Carl August launched Gammal Fin Prima Aquavit at the Gothenburg Exhibition, naming it in honor of his father. The spirit became Sweden's oldest and most enduring aquavit brand. Produced at the O.P. Anderson distillery in Sundsvall, the aquavit is crafted using a grain vodka base infused with caraway, anise, and fennel before undergoing eight months of oak barrel maturation, which imparts its characteristic pale yellow hue. Since 2002, all ingredients have been certified organic. After disappearing from U.S. shelves around 2008 following Pernod Ricard's acquisition of V&S, O.P. Anderson was reintroduced to the American market in 2018 through a partnership with Frederick Wildman and Sons, capitalizing on growing cocktail-scene interest in aquavit.
Grain-based spirit infused with caraway, anise, and fennel. Matured minimum eight months in oak barrels, which develops the distinctive pale yellow color and mellows the spice profile. All organic ingredients sourced to strict quality standards. No artificial additives. Traditional Nordic production methods maintained since 1891.
