The Heritage

Crafted with
Uncompromising Passion

Wodka Gorbatschow traces its origins to St. Petersburg, Russia, where Lev Leontyevitch Gorbachev operated a prestigious vodka distillery in the pre-revolutionary era. His vodka was favored by tsars, princes, and common citizens alike. Following the October Revolution of 1917, Gorbachev fled Russia with his family and settled in Berlin, where he established a new distillery on April 28, 1921. The distinctive brand identity—featuring the iconic onion-domed bottle and blue label—was registered as a trademark in 1923. Throughout the twentieth century, Gorbatschow became deeply embedded in German culture, eventually becoming the nation's best-selling vodka. The brand has maintained its commitment to quality through continuous refinement of production methods. Originally filtered twice over charcoal, the process was enhanced in 2015 to include four-stage cold filtration using activated charcoal, ensuring maximum purity and smoothness. Today, produced under the Henkell & Co. umbrella (owned by Dr. Oetker since 1996), Gorbatschow remains a market leader, balancing tradition with modern distillation standards.

Produced from 100% grain using pure water, cold-filtered four times through activated charcoal in a meticulous process to eliminate impurities and external aromas. The four-stage filtration ensures consistent purity and mild flavor profile. Production adheres to the original family recipe while incorporating modern quality standards.
