Uncompromising Passion
Kavka Vodka draws inspiration from 19th-century Polish distilling traditions, when vodka makers prioritized flavour and character over aggressive filtration. The brand was established in 2021, rooted in the heritage of Sandomierz, an ancient Polish market town in the heart of the country's orchard region, famed since Medieval times for fruit cultivation and distillation. The name 'Kavka' references both the Polish jackdaw bird and a historical slang term—'little coffee'—used when vodka was illegal in Poland. The spirit blends fine rye and wheat with small quantities of aged pot-stilled fruit spirits, primarily apple and plum, sourced locally. The apple contributes crisp acidity while the plum provides natural sweetness and depth. This approach creates a vodka with complexity and smoothness rarely found in modern spirits, positioning Kavka as a return to vodka's more flavourful past.
Blended rye and wheat spirits combined with aged pot-stilled fruit spirits (apple and plum) distilled in Sandomierz using traditional methods. Column stills employed for grain spirits; pot stills for fruit spirits. Local spring water used. Minimal filtration preserves natural character and fruit complexity.
