Uncompromising Passion
Light Cavalerie represents a traditional Polish nalewka, a centuries-old category of herbal and spice-infused vodka bitters known as Bitter Drops. The exact origins of this particular expression remain obscure, with no documented evidence of large-scale commercial production. The spirit is crafted through maceration of carefully selected botanicals—anise, tansy, cardamom, ginger, angelica root, nutmeg, black pepper, and clove—steeped in high-proof alcohol before blending with fresh vodka. This labour-intensive method follows family recipes passed down through generations of Polish distillers. The resulting liquid captures the aromatic complexity and bittersweet character typical of traditional nalewka, reflecting Poland's rich heritage of herbal spirit-making. While production remains largely artisanal and limited, Light Cavalerie preserves authentic techniques that predate modern industrial distilling.
Maceration of ground botanicals including anise seed, tansy leaves, cardamom seed, angelica root, nutmeg, black pepper, and clove in high-proof alcohol for approximately three days, then strained and blended with fresh grain vodka. No column still distillation; the spirit relies on traditional infusion and maceration methods characteristic of Polish nalewka production.
