Uncompromising Passion
Grey Goose was created in the mid-1990s by American entrepreneur Sidney Frank, who recognized that North America was ready for a premium vodka positioned as a French luxury product. Frank partnered with François Thibault, a master distiller, and established production in the Cognac region of France, selecting soft winter wheat from Picardy and pure spring water filtered through limestone. The brand was named after the geese that inhabit the Cognac region and are celebrated annually at the Foire aux Pirons festival. Launched in 1997, Grey Goose achieved remarkable commercial success, becoming a global icon of premium vodka. In 2004, Frank sold the brand to Bacardi for a reported sum exceeding two billion dollars—a testament to the brand's market dominance. The distinctive bottle, featuring a panoramic illustration of geese and French countryside, became instantly recognizable in bars and retail environments worldwide.
Single distillation in column stills using soft winter wheat from Picardy region. Water sourced from natural springs near Gensac-la-Pallue in the Cognac region, filtered through limestone to achieve mineral balance and purity. The single-distillation approach preserves the natural character and subtle flavour notes of the wheat rather than pursuing complete neutrality.
