The Heritage

Crafted with
Uncompromising Passion

Żołądkowa Gorzka, whose name translates to 'bitter stomach vodka', represents a living link to Poland's centuries-old nalewka tradition dating back to at least the 16th century. Introduced commercially in 1950 by Polmos Lublin, the brand draws from a recipe with roots reaching into the 19th century. Unlike many modern herbal vodkas relying on artificial flavoring, Żołądkowa Gorzka maintains the authentic maceration process, steeping dried fruits and a proprietary blend of herbs and roots—including wormwood and yarrow—directly in the spirit. The resulting liquid is aged before bottling, developing its characteristic amber hue and complex flavor profile. Despite its name suggesting bitterness, the vodka presents a surprisingly balanced semi-sweet character with herbal notes and a hint of bitterness. The brand has achieved significant international recognition, earning a Grand Gold Quality Award in 2009 and Three Golden Stars from the International Taste & Quality Institute in 2013. Today, Żołądkowa Gorzka remains Poland's leading herbal vodka brand and has successfully expanded to markets across the United States, Australia, United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, and Spain.

Produced at Polmos Lublin (Stock Polska) using natural maceration of bitter oranges and proprietary herb and spice blend including wormwood and yarrow. The infused spirit is aged before bottling to develop complexity. No artificial flavoring agents used; the traditional nalewka method preserves authentic herbal character and amber coloration.
