Uncompromising Passion
Stolichnaya originated in the Soviet Union in 1938, becoming one of the world's most recognized vodka brands. The brand gained international prominence in the 1970s when PepsiCo secured exclusive US importation rights as part of a Cold War trade agreement between the Soviet government and the American cola company. In 1975, Stolichnaya achieved a unique distinction by becoming the first vodka brand in space, with labels used on cosmonauts' food tubes during the Apollo-Soyuz docking mission. The brand pioneered flavoured vodkas, launching Stolichnaya Okhotnichya and Pertsovka in 1962, and later introducing Limonnaya in 1986, which became the foundation for the modern flavoured vodka category. Following the Soviet Union's dissolution, ownership disputes arose between Russian state-owned FKP Soyuzplodoimport and Luxembourg-chartered SPI Group, which rebranded their version as Stoli in 2022. The iconic red label was established in 1953 following a state-run design competition.
Triple-distilled from a blend of wheat and rye grains using column stills. Filtered through quartz sand and activated charcoal for clarity and smoothness. Produced in Latvia for international distribution, with glacier water used in production to enhance the clean finish.
