The Essence
"Unique Vermont vodka distilled entirely from raw honey with no grains or potatoes, offering delicate wildflower aromatics and subtle natural sweetness."
Crafted with
Uncompromising Passion
Barr Hill Vodka represents an unconventional origin story in the spirits world. Founded by Todd Hardie, a Vermont beekeeper of over four decades, the distillery began as a way to diversify the family's honey operation. What started as a side venture has become a full-time craft spirits producer renowned for quality and innovation. Each bottle contains three pounds of raw honey sourced from regional family farms in Caledonia Country, Vermont. The production philosophy is deliberately restrained: the honey is never heated before fermentation and distilled only twice, preserving the wild yeast and rich aromatics of the wildflower nectar. Cold fermentation for three weeks maintains the delicate floral character. This commitment to minimal intervention and sustainable agriculture has earned Barr Hill recognition as a leader in mindful distilling, reconnecting cocktail culture to its agricultural roots while pioneering advances in environmental responsibility.
Cold fermentation of raw honey for three weeks at low temperature to preserve wild yeast and floral aromatics. Double distillation in column stills using spring water from Vermont. No heating of honey prior to fermentation. Gluten-free and kosher certified. Water sourced from sustainable regional farms avoiding neonics and harmful pesticides.
