The Heritage

Crafted with
Uncompromising Passion

Fleischmann's Royal Vodka traces its origins to 1868 when Charles and Maximilian Fleischmann, along with distiller James Gaff, founded the Fleischmann Company to produce both compressed yeast and distilled spirits. The family's expertise in fermentation naturally extended to distillation. In 1870, the original plant at Riverside, Ohio produced America's first domestic vodka alongside gin and bourbon. Following Prohibition, Fleischmann relocated spirits production to Owensboro, Kentucky in 1940. The "Royal" designation emerged in the mid-twentieth century as a strategic branding initiative to position the vodka as a premium offering at accessible prices, democratizing quality spirits for everyday American consumers. Through various ownership changes—Glenmore in 1989, United Distillers in 1991, and finally Barton Brands in 1995—Fleischmann's has maintained its reputation as a reliable, affordable American vodka brand.

Distilled from high-quality grain neutral spirits using multiple column stills to remove impurities while maintaining subtle character. The production process emphasizes consistency and purity through careful grain selection and meticulous distillation methodology. Produced at the Owensboro, Kentucky distillery.
