The Essence
"Polish flavored vodka infused with bison grass from the Białowieża Forest, delivering distinctive vanilla, almond, and herbaceous notes with a subtle green tint."
Crafted with
Uncompromising Passion
Żubrówka's origins trace to 15th-century Polish nobility who added bison grass blades to vodka, believing the herb possessed aphrodisiac properties and the strength of the ancient forest's bison. Commercial production began in 1928 at the Polmos Białystok distillery. The bison grass, Hierochloe odorata, is hand-harvested during summer from the Białowieża Forest—one of Europe's last primeval woodlands—then dried naturally and infused into rye vodka. Each bottle contains a single blade of grass. The vodka's distinctive vanilla and almond character derives from coumarin, a naturally occurring compound in the grass. Once a lucrative export during the Communist era, Żubrówka regained Western popularity in the post-Cold War period. Since 2003, EU regulations mandate that authentic Żubrówka must be produced in Poland using Polish ingredients. Today it ranks as the world's third or fourth best-selling vodka brand, available in over 80 markets globally.
Rye-based vodka infused with hand-harvested, naturally dried bison grass from the Białowieża Forest. Distilled at Polmos Białystok using traditional column stills and local water sources. The grass infusion imparts natural vanilla, almond, and herbaceous character through coumarin compounds. Filtered to clarity while retaining the subtle green tint characteristic of the spirit.
