Crafted with
Uncompromising Passion
Ketel One was launched in 1983 by the Nolet family, building on over three centuries of distilling heritage at their Schiedam distillery, founded in 1691. The brand name honours the original coal-fired copper pot still, Distilleerketel #1, which remains central to production. Rather than mass marketing, the Nolet family strategically built the brand through bartenders and distributors, beginning with a launch at San Francisco's BIX Restaurant and Supper Club. In 1991, Carl Nolet Jr. relocated to the United States to expand distribution. Diageo acquired a 50% stake in 2009 for $900 million, making Ketel One a global premium brand while maintaining family involvement in quality control. Every batch is still approved by a Nolet family member. The vodka has earned recognition as the top-trending vodka in the world's best bars, reflecting its consistent quality and bartender preference.
Distilled in traditional copper pot stills using 100% non-GMO European wheat. Filtered over loose charcoal and rested in tile-lined tanks before bottling. The copper pot still distillation method, combined with modern techniques, produces the characteristic crisp, silky profile. Water sourced locally in Schiedam, Netherlands.
