Uncompromising Passion
Polugar represents a revival of legendary Russian breadwine, a spirit lost for over 120 years. The Rodionov family undertook the ambitious project of resurrecting historic distillation techniques and recipes from the 18th and 19th centuries, when such spirits were produced on Russian noble estates. Using coarse-milled rye and natural, chemically unpurified water, Polugar is triple-distilled in copper pot stills reconstructed from period drawings. The filtration process employs birch coal and fresh egg white—the authentic Russian method for creating noble breadwine. This meticulous approach honors the golden age of Russian distillation while delivering a spirit with sumptuous body and distinctive character. Polugar stands apart from modern vodka conventions, emphasizing grain-forward complexity and traditional craftsmanship over neutral smoothness.
Triple-distilled in copper pot stills reconstructed from 18th-century designs. Produced from select coarse-milled rye and natural spring water without chemical purification. Filtered using birch coal and fresh egg white following authentic Russian noble-estate methods. The traditional approach preserves grain character and natural complexity.
