Uncompromising Passion

Reyka Vodka emerged in the early 2000s as an innovative Icelandic spirit produced at the Reyka Distillery in Borgarnes, approximately 74 kilometers outside Reykjavik. The brand is owned by William Grant & Sons, the Scottish spirits company behind Glenfiddich. What distinguishes Reyka is its commitment to sustainability and terroir: the distillery harnesses geothermal energy from nearby volcanic heat sources, making it one of the world's few zero-emission distilleries. The vodka is crafted from Scottish-grown barley and wheat, distilled in a rare Carter-Head Still, and filtered through cooled lava rocks that naturally purify the spirit while preserving its character. The glacial spring water sourced from beneath Icelandic lava fields provides natural mineral balance and contributes to the vodka's signature soft mouthfeel. Reyka deliberately avoided the flavored vodka trend, famously advertising that in Iceland, the only flavored vodka they make is vodka-flavored vodka. This philosophy, combined with its distinctive mineral profile and subtle notes of pepper, citrus, and vanilla, positioned Reyka ahead of the curve during an era when neutral vodkas dominated the market.

Distilled in a custom Carter-Head Still using continuous distillation, with each batch requiring approximately six hours and yielding 255 small cases. Water sourced from glacial springs flowing through Icelandic lava fields, naturally filtered by volcanic rock. Final filtration conducted over lava rocks to remove impurities while maintaining the spirit's inherent character and mineral complexity. Geothermal energy powers the distillery, eliminating carbon emissions.
