Uncompromising Passion
Chase Vodka represents a return to artisanal vodka-making traditions. Founded in 2008 by William Chase, the entrepreneur behind the successful Tyrrell's crisps brand, Chase Distillery operates as a true single-estate producer on a family farm in Herefordshire, England that has grown potatoes for five generations. Unlike most premium vodka producers who purchase neutral spirit and simply redistil it, Chase controls the entire process from planting to bottling. The potatoes—primarily Lady Claire and King Edward varieties—are peeled, heated, and mashed before fermentation with yeast. The resulting liquid is then distilled in a traditional copper pot still and passed through Europe's tallest rectification column at 70 feet, resulting in an exceptionally pure spirit distilled 119 times. The final product is diluted with distilled water drawn from an onsite borehole beneath the farm's apple orchards. In April 2010, Chase Vodka was voted Best in the World at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, cementing its reputation as a genuinely distinctive premium vodka.
