Uncompromising Passion
Hellfire Bluff Distillery in Tasmania was born from a desire to utilize excess potato crops, transforming agricultural surplus into premium craft spirits. The distillery's founding philosophy mirrors the historical origins of whisky in Scotland and bourbon in America—communities innovatively converting local produce into distinctive spirits. Hellfire Tasmanian Potato Vodka represents this heritage, crafted from paddock to bottle with dedication to local sourcing. The vodka is distilled twice to 94% ABV before being diluted to 40% ABV, resulting in a spirit with notable character and depth. Its earthy, creamy profile with white pepper notes distinguishes it from grain-based vodkas. The vodka has earned significant recognition, including a Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2022 and Best Australian Varietal Vodka at the World Vodka Awards 2022, validating the distillery's commitment to quality and innovation in Australian craft spirits.
Double-distilled in column stills from locally harvested Tasmanian potatoes to 94% ABV, then diluted to bottling strength using pristine Tasmanian rainwater. Potato mash, being denser than grain, requires specialized handling during fermentation. Charcoal filtration employed to achieve smoothness while preserving the distinctive earthy character and buttery mouthfeel characteristic of quality potato vodka.
