Uncompromising Passion
Russian Standard Original was introduced in 1998 by Roustam Tariko, a Russian businessman and founder of Russian Standard Bank. The brand draws inspiration from an 1894 imperial commission by Tsar Alexander III, who tasked chemist Dmitri Mendeleev with creating a vodka of uncommon balance, purity, and strength. The vodka is crafted from hardy winter wheat cultivated on the Russian steppes and blended with glacial waters from Lake Ladoga, renowned for their softness and purity. Production takes place at the company's distillation and rectification facilities in Saint Petersburg, where the spirit undergoes quadruple distillation followed by a rigorous quadruple charcoal filtering process. The vodka is then rested in steel tanks before bottling. Russian Standard Original has earned recognition as a versatile spirit suitable for both neat consumption and cocktail mixing, with a clean, traditional taste that pairs well with food. The brand represents a modern interpretation of Russian vodka-making heritage.
