Uncompromising Passion
Double Cross Vodka was founded in 2008 by Malcolm Lloyd and John Gellner, who partnered with master distiller Jan Krak in northeastern Slovakia near the Polish border. The brand emerged from a collaboration between American entrepreneurs and Slovak distilling expertise, with Eduard Heger and Juraj Droba playing key roles in developing the Slovak operations. Produced in the town of Stará Ľubovňa in the Tatra Mountains, the vodka draws water from 200-foot-deep aquifers rich in distinctive mineral composition. The brand achieved remarkable recognition in 2012 when it became the sole vodka in history to win double Gold Medals at the prestigious San Francisco World Spirits Competition for both taste and packaging. Wine Enthusiast awarded it a rare 95-point rating, while leading spirits critics Paul Pacault and Anthony Dias Blue provided enthusiastic endorsements. In 2024, the brand underwent strategic revival under new ownership by DCV Investors, LLC, with Harry McKaig appointed as Chief Executive Officer, focusing expansion on key U.S. markets including New York, New Jersey, and Florida.
Seven-times distilled in column stills using estate-grown winter wheat and natural spring water sourced from 200-foot-deep Tatra Mountain aquifers. Seven-stage filtration process includes proprietary diamond-dust filtration designed to achieve exceptional purity and clean finish. The mineral-rich spring water combined with crisp winter wheat creates a bright, smooth vodka with soft, round mouthfeel.
