Uncompromising Passion
Koskenkorva Vodka was established in 1953 in the small village of Koskenkorva in Southern Ostrobothnia, Finland, during a period of national recovery following World War II. The distillery was built in 1941, with commercial production beginning in 1953. Originally distilled from potatoes, the brand quickly transitioned to barley, which thrived in the region's fertile coastal fields. The first product, Koskenkorva Viina, was designed as a versatile spirit for mixed drinks and chilled consumption. By 1960, it had become Finland's most popular spirit, a position it maintains today as the nation's best-selling spirit brand. The vodka embodies the straightforward, honest character of Ostrobothnia's farming culture. Sourced from barley grown within 120 miles of the distillery and filtered through local spring water, Koskenkorva represents a commitment to regional authenticity and sustainability. The brand has expanded internationally, reaching markets across Europe and North America, including the United States in 2017.
Continuous multi-stage distillation process using 100% Finnish barley sourced within 120 miles of the Koskenkorva distillery in Ilmajoki. Pure local spring water from Rajamäki used throughout production. Multiple distillation stages ensure removal of impurities and off-flavors, resulting in a clean, refined spirit with light mouthfeel and smooth character.
