Absolut Pears launched in 2007 as the world's first pear-flavored vodka, continuing Absolut's tradition of flavor innovation that began with Absolut Peppar in 1986. The product was developed using the same continuous distillation method pioneered by founder Lars Olsson Smith in 1879, which distills the spirit continuously rather than the traditional three or four times, ensuring exceptional purity. Made exclusively from natural ingredients without added sugar, Absolut Pears combines Swedish winter wheat grown in Skåne with natural pear essence. The wheat is sown in autumn and harvested the following year, developing hardiness under Swedish snow with minimal fertilizer use. Water sourced from a protected deep well in Åhus ensures purity. The 2007 launch campaign, titled "New Temptation," positioned the product as a sophisticated alternative in the competitive flavored vodka market, establishing it as a premium choice for discerning consumers.
Produced at the Absolut distillery in Åhus, Sweden using continuous column distillation of fermented winter wheat. Water sourced from a deep protected well in Åhus. Natural pear essence infused without artificial sweeteners or added sugar. The continuous distillation process removes impurities and ensures consistent smoothness characteristic of the Absolut line.
