Uncompromising Passion
Saaremaa Vodka was introduced to the market in 1996 by Altia, Finland's leading spirits producer. The brand is distilled at the Koskenkorva distillery in Finland using barley as its base ingredient, then diluted with groundwater sourced from Estonia and bottled in Tabasalu. By 2003, Saaremaa had become the leading premium domestic vodka brand in Estonia, commanding 43 percent market share. The vodka is characterized by a neutral, dry profile with subtle grain notes typical of barley-based spirits. While it exhibits some solvent-like ethanol characteristics common to Altia products, it remains approachable for casual consumption. Saaremaa is positioned as a versatile mixer rather than a premium sipping vodka, suitable for classic cocktails like the Cosmopolitan, Screwdriver, and Bloody Mary, as well as traditional Baltic pairings with herring and crayfish dishes.
Distilled from barley at Koskenkorva distillery in Finland. Diluted with groundwater pumped from Estonian sources and bottled in Tabasalu, Estonia. Standard filtration process. The spirit exhibits characteristic Altia production notes with mild burn and minimal residual sweetness, resulting in a dry, neutral profile suitable for mixing applications.
